Catering Assistant – University Hospital CrosshouseThe post is 7days on 7 days off average ( Friday- Thursday 12.25 average hours per week)11.45-15.15 dailyPlease note: Salary is pro-rata for part time hours.In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful.You are required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way.The main kitchen at University Hospital Crosshouse provides in excess of 1,000 patients prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for the staff and the public.In addition, we cater for and provide hospitality for meetings and functions.Experience in large scale catering, preferably within the NHS would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.You should have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.Good communication skills are essential.Your duties include the service of meals, general catering duties, maintaining high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring data for HACCP and Environmental Health.A degree of flexibility is essential and applicants who wish to be considered, must be available to cover all shifts within the department between the hours of 7.30am – 9pm.All preferred candidates must attend day Corporate Induction program before commencement of employment; thereafter an ongoing program of Mandatory & Statutory training .Vilma Fowlie, Deputy Catering Manager, U.H Crosshouse
