Business Manager

Are you a senior professional within the Highways Contracting industry with Operational Management experience? Do you have a proven track record with tier 1 contracting positions and experience of dealing with Highways England and local councils? You will ensure successful delivery of the relevant Business Plan objectives whilst providing operational support to our clients Business units and their joint ventures as required.What You Need:*Tier 1 Contractor background*Experience of dealing with Highways England and Local Councils*Minimum 5 years experience in a similar, senior management role*Minimum of 15 years industry experience*Working knowledge of NEC 3 and 4 forms of contracts*Management of multi-discipline business streams/functions*Framework and or Project Management*Work Winning and tender evaluationWhat you will get in return:*Negotiable starting salary in the £75-85k range*£650 pm Car allowance - no mileage rate cap*Enhanced Pension - 16% combined contribution*personal private health careResponsibilities*Provide effective leadership, direction and motivation to the operational team.*Ensure business unit and personal performance indicators are met.*To ensure problems are confronted, solved, and acted upon in a timely manner.*Ensure Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environment policies are implemented including completion of the minimum number of safety audits as laid down by line management.*Understand the COSHH regulations, particularly as they relate to the activities the role encompasses and ensure the required information is relayed to the persons handling the materials concerned.*Understand the CDM regulations, ensuring they are complied with where appropriate.*Co-operate with the Safety department in the compilation and update of Safe Working Procedures for the activities the role encompasses and as requested by line management.*Ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.*Ensure all operational managers have all Risk Assessments in place and available for all staff, operatives and sub contractors before any work commences.For a full list of responsibilities and a full job spec including details of our client please apply in the first instance.
