Engineering Supervisor - Sunderland - £36k (Day shift)Do you have previous supervisory experience within an engineering environment along with electrical and instrumentation knowledge?Do you possess CompEx, 17th edition as a minimum and have experience with top tier CoMAH regulations?Overview:The Engineering Supervisor will possess a comprehensive range of electrical and instrumentation knowledge with suitable experience for both trouble shooting and installation work. The ideal candidate will possess qualifications in hazardous area working (CompEx) and ideally within the wiring regulations (17th/18th edition). Experience and knowledge gained working as a supervisor controlling allocation of jobs within a CMMS planning role, along with expose to mechanical works within top tier CoMAH regulations including corresponding environmental, health and safety legislative requirements are fundamental to this role.Responsibilities:To ensure all duties and assigned activities are carried out in compliance with statutory legal requirements and the company's quality, health & safety and environmental policiesPromote a positive health and safety culture by sustaining good housekeeping standards, wearing correct PPE, reporting any observed near misses and isolating any unsafe situationsAdhere to company policies and procedures completing all necessary documentation and performing the necessary routine checks and calibrations whilst maintaining the required standardsManage Engineering technicians to ensure the safe, standardised and efficient maintenance of all plant and equipment as per process CMMS task instructions, statutory requirements and technical documentationAllocation of daily work using CMMS job sheets and to supervise the E&I and mechanical technicians in the routine maintenance of the site equipment and close out of jobsResponsible for managing the correct installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation, ensuring all work undertaken to the highest standards and within required timescalesWork in conjunction with engineering administrator to manage CMMS jobs and task lists ensuring that the they are up to date completed on time and suitably closed outWork with engineering manager and chemical engineer to ensure that all contractor projects plans, improvements, repairs and shutdowns are performed to the appropriate standard and timescales and communicated to the engineering teamContribute as required to the raising of capital asset requests including the provision of specification requirements, resource, technical and process data. Approval of the design and build details to suit engineering requirements and ensure the timely and thorough commissioning and snagging and hand over of installed equipmentActively encourage the engineering team to identify appropriate repairs/upgrades and routine maintenance requirements are undertaken to maximise and maintain plant availability and efficiencyEnsure that engineering team are reporting all equipment defects and alarms and that they are appropriately handled ensuring unsafe all items are suitably isolated and communicatedRole:Ensure that all tasks performed are conducted to good Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all defects or issues are reportedPeriodic review of risk assessments ensuring that assessments in place are suitable, up to date and include everyday tasks and routinesTo supervise E&I and mechanical technicians managing their workload by the timely issuing of CMMS tasks and routines, ensuring breakdowns are promptly resolved and installation projects are managed to resolution whilst minimising plant down timeAiming to achieve efficient and maximised performance of operational and control equipment through good engineering practices ensuring equipment is used safely as per instructionsSuitable precautions are used to ensure all engineering work, process break-ins and isolations are communicated to the permit writer; this must include required cleaning or flushing if required and testing prior to starting workManaging the disposal of all Company waste arising's, where applicable identify new disposal routes, which will be operated within Health Safety and Environmental Regulations, and that may offer advantages to the Company. Where such routes are in use, you are, with the assistance of the SHEQ Manager, to ensure that existing regulations and good practice regimes are being followed within these sites
