Bring your passion, bring your energy, and plug into a team that appreciates a simple truth: Diversity + Collaboration = Great Innovation You as a Global Transport Manager, will be part of Power Grids business and reporting to the Global Logistics Manager, you are responsible for supporting development and implementation of Heavy lift & Project cargo Transport & Logistics (T&L) strategies in line with Hitachi Power Grids needs. Supporting and coaches Heavy Lift & Transport specialists located in LBU. Share best practices in day to day work to ensure strong T&L heavy lift & projects operations and on time delivery within budget at highest service levels with best possible price. Ensuring execution in accordance with Hitachi ABB Power Grid’s, Supply Chain & Logistics management instructions and procedures. Your responsibilities Category Management: Contributing input for the development of the new Heavy lift & Project Logistic strategy. Working on improvement of logistics concepts and build and implement strategies to improve quality/cost for the BU. The strategy work will focus mainly on vendor selection for mid-to-long term frame agreements. Reviewing current processes used, current network designs and propose changes and supports sourcing and implementation of standardized processes for any Heavy Lift / Project Cargo related activity. Monitoring implementation of Global Heavy Lift & Project cargo guidelines within the Business. Implementing best practices, such as improving tools and processes to ensure cost efficient and process compliant T&L purchasing within the Business. Operational Accountabilities: Supporting implementation of effective sourcing strategies in close cooperation with Global Sourcing & Carrier management for major projects based on business needs, and incorporate this into the procurement project plan, through the Project Supply Chain Managers where available. Communication of strategic direction into the LBU´s and is involved in supplier selection and strategic projects. Based on input from the Business & proactive actions identifies costs savings, Cost Out Initiatives in T&L through rate negotiation, benchmark logistics costs and quality in ensuring high quality levels within T&L (e.g. on time delivery, reduced damage and lower loss rates) through the BU logistics staff. Local Support: Supporting the local structures and processes at individual ABB locations within PGTR, provide tender support, and be a point of escalation (advising and troubleshooting) during project execution. Assisting in implementation of Power Grids logistics organization and LBU. Support of Risk assessment and monitoring of Risk control notification process (RCN). Evaluation of major projects and review of final proposals of RFQ´s elaborated under the PGTR HUB’s. Customs: Covering Import and Export transactions and ensure the proper handling of import procedures. Business Continuity: Applies and implements standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the Heavy Lift & Project Cargo assigned commodity. Budget performance: Providing input to target setting for Heavy Lift & Project Cargo and with the PG TT&L CoE organization and ensuring communication of targets within the Business. Ensuring the cost out & budget targets are achieved. Special Programs: Design and develop Tool for Heavy Lift & Project Cargo RFQ process to optimize bid evaluation process, budgeting, and transport cost planning. People Leadership and Development: Ensuring all Heavy Lift & Project Operations are working via defined procedures and ensuring the best quality of service for the PG Division. Guides, motivates, and supports the spokes on site in their day to day work. Safety & Integrity: Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business. Your background Excellent communication skills, understanding of intercultural sensitivity in a complex organization. Excellent knowledge of project environment / project execution. Fluent in English and local language where applicable. Minimum 15 years within Transport & Logistics management. Material understanding and knowledge of relevant and specific legislation and how to comply with legislation is an advantage however basic understanding of material compliance regulations is a must. Basic knowledge about ABB products of the division. Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties at all levels in a multi-cultural environment and organization. Experienced and comfortable in setting up / adjusting appropriate processes and procedures Open and flexible minded to accommodate in a change environment. Strategic and result oriented mindset to drive continuously the results. Proven record to manage and motivate a team to perform successfully, team builder, good at moderating/facilitating.
