Engineer Waste Management

The Waste Management group is an engineering group providing various technical services around Nuclear Waste Characterization, engineering services for final storage of radioactive waste and engineering of Waste Management equipment products like evaporators, dryers, cementation & grouting systems, and super-Compactors. Tasks: Definition of waste acceptance criteria and complementary procedures and technical specifications Waste packages activity calculations for Low and Intermediate Level Waste, Very Low Level Waste, storage units, large dimensions waste like equipment and components and singular waste Activity calculations and verifications of the coherence activity-dose rate with Microshield code Calculation and definition of the scaling factors and activity concentrations from the sampling activity results and statistical techniques and applications Radionuclide vectors calculation and validation Preparation of engineering documents (calculation reports, descriptions, licensing documents, and specifications) Carrying out production control of waste generation in the Nuclear Power Plants (Quality Assurance process) Participation in preparation of proposals (technical descriptions, calculation of efforts) Working in international teams Travelling and onsite activities (worldwide) Education / Experience: Master’s degree in Science (Physics or Chemistry) or engineering 1-2 years experience Training in nuclear engineering would be appreciated Knowledge about nuclear waste management systems or nuclear engineering Fluent in English with proven reporting skills MS Office products knowledge Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities Willingness to travel (internationally) Driving License would be appreciated Benefits Westinghouse employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical Insurance, Life & Disability Insurance, Lunch Allowance and Pension Plan.
